Ok so I'm now on holidays for 3 weeks and apart from one major assignment I'm gonna be bored as because everyone else is going to be working. So I started looking for a project to do during the break. I was thinking of trying to learn something, like studying a language, or making a flash game, then I found this article:

Shortly after reading an article in creativepro.com back in 2004 I took my kids out on a digital photo shoot we called our "ABC" project. The photo opportunities we sought out were inspired by one of the class projects that Brian P. Lawler assigned the students in his Advanced Typography class at Cal Poly, and described in "Bit by Bit: Learning to Love Letters -- and Leading." Given a particular letter, each student was told to "photograph anything that represented their letter in life that was not a man-made letter (no signs, for example)." The photos were then made into a poster of the alphabet.

Although we never completed the project, even now my daughters continue to point out things around us that look like letters of the alphabet. It's a fun project that I hope to complete one of these days (some letters are easier to spot than others). It would make an interesting project to give as a gift to a designer friend or just about anyone. There are ways that the project could be personalized or tailored to the recipient: use only recognizable locations and scenes from a specific town or a university or your own home; look for letters only in nature such as plants, trees, animals, rocks, water; look for letters made of all the same material such as all metal or all stone. So thats what I'm going to do I'm going to try to find as many letters as I can during the break. So I'm gonna be off catching trains and taking photos of random things for three weeks That should keep me busy.

I hate holidays, I always end up sleeping way too much and being way too bored. This is the first day and my head already hurts.

Oh and here's a question, I know this is getting a bit long but just go with me here, I was going to get a subscription for DA and I have to use my friends credit card to do it. So I asked him and he asked me what I actually get with a subscription. I went to answer him when I thought to myself hang on what do you get??? I kinda just assumed I wanted one. So I know some of you guys have them, so what do you get?
